आसन मारे कह भयो, मरी न मन की आस I
तेली केरे बैल ज्यौं घर ही कोस पचास II

"Kabir says, while telling the beads and counting the number of rosary revolutions performed on the fingers, the mind is like an unbridled colt wandering about. All such deeds are therefore of no avail. While the untold treasure of divinity lies hidden within, we search for it without and so all our efforts go in vain.
To operate a bull-driven oil mill, the bull harnessed to a large wooden or metal press is trained to walk in circles, turning the press and crushing the oil seeds. Going round and round for whole day, yet as such the bull has not travelled anywhere. Similarly turning the rosary round and round with wandering mind remains only a physical effort. While telling the beads if the mind is not still, what is the good of doing it after all?
