दुख में सुमिरन सब करै, सुख में करै न कोय I
जो सुख में सुमिरन करै, तो दुख काहे को होय II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, not the good times but the sorrow reminds us of GOD. We can keep the sorrow at bay if we inculcate a habit of remembering GOD even when everything is going on well for us. And therefore good times or not, GOD must dwell in our thoughts all the time."

कालचक्र चक्की चलै, बहुत दिवस और रात I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. So is the Wheel of Time, like a quern, is turning incessantly since time immemorial through day and night. The quern has two stones between which the grain is crushed. Just like no two grains are ground alike, One reaps as he sows according to his Good Karma or Bad Karma."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, there is no greater foolishness than spending the precious time of this rare human birth chasing frivolous material pursuits, for in the end none of them are of any use. We come alone in this world and only alone we depart."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, death has no double standards. Every one who is born must die one day, no matter who he is, a King or a Pauper. But there is a difference. While the good deeds bestow the universal acclaim, the bad deeds condemns one to the shackles of hell."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, one needs to live in the world but not of the world if he wants liberation from the mundane existence.
Be like a guest who enjoys all the amenities of the house he visits yet has no attachment towards them."

जंगल ढेरी राख की, उपरि उपरि हरियाय I
ते भी होते मानवी, करते रँगरलियाय II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, in the jungle after the dead bodies are cremated green grass grows on the mound of ash. Those who were lost in the enjoyment of worldly pleasures a while ago are reborn as merely a lowly grass. And therefore if we don't want this we must stick to the path of devotion, for it is the way of liberation from the mundane existence."

महलन माँहिं पौढते, परिमल अंग लगाय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, forgotten even in dreams are the countless who slept in their luxurious palaces bathed in perfumes and aromatic oils, for death spares no one. Everything that is born has to die. We must not get carried away by the fleeting pleasures of the material riches, for nothing lasts forever."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, people engrossed in the enjoyment of worldly pleasures forget that their end may catch them unawares any time. And therefore we must call up into our mind the Name of Lord, for only He can liberate us from the mundane existence."

 भक्ति भेष बहु अंतरा, जैसे धरनि आकाश I

" In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, distant like sky and earth are the true devotion and it's pretender. While the true devotee humbly holds the feet of the Spiritual Master, the one who merely dresses like a saintly being remains absorbed in the worldly desires."

आरत है गुरू भक्ति करूं, सब कारज सिध होय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, none of the desires remain unfulfilled if one pursues the devotion of the Spiritual Master steadfastly remaining free from attachment. The devotee who evades the Karmic Whirlpool gets Liberated from the mundane existence."

कबीर गुरू की भक्ति करूं, तज विषया रस चौंज I
बार-बार नहिं पाइये, मानुष जन्म की मौज II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, it is very challenging to pursue the devotion to the Spiritual Master while we are caught in the tempest of the worldly desires. One doesn't get this precious human birth often. And therefore to fulfill it's true purpose the devotion to the Spiritual Master is a must, for only then we can make our next birth more fruitful."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, reasonless devotion is the true devotion. Wisdom dawns when one gets rid of the attachment. Liberation from the mundane existence comes true when joy doesn't elate and sorrow doesn't sadden. The absolute desirelessness is but merging into the Supreme Reality."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, Life, Youth and Power to Rule are all but fleeting. They cannot be with us permanently. One starts understanding the true purpose of this rare human birth as soon as he seeks the company of the Spiritually Wise."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, we should hold on to the Truth firmly no matter what people say. Believing the Untruth knowingly is no less than accepting a piece of glass for gold."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, when a righteous person meets another it doesn't take much time to develop trust and affection between them. In contrast love between an unrighteous and righteous hardly lasts."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, while people have a hard time accepting the Truth , the Lie spreads like an inferno that sweeps through the city. Illustrating with a meaningful analogy he says, unlike Spirits One has to go door to door to sell Milk."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, seemingly difficult tasks also could be accomplished if hard work is done with courage of conviction. 
Cool water breaks out of hard ground when a well digger persists steadfastly without giving up."

कैसा भी सामर्थ्य हो, बिन उद्यम दुख पाय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, without hard work only suffering will come his way, however capable and strong man can be. The food in the plate will not go into the mouth on its own unless hands do the needful."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, if we do not heed the advice of the knowledgable who knows the true dept of water then it is none of his fault if we get drowned. In the similar way none can save us if we choose the wrong way instead of  following the footsteps of a Spiritual Master."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, the liberation from the mundane existence which man, Gods and Sages tried since time memorial but in vain is easily achievable by the devotional service to the competent Spiritual Master."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, unyielding or stubborn adherence to one's beliefs is not good. The more the blanket gets drenched, heavier it becomes. In the similar way, obstinacy makes man more rigid."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, a gentle answer turns away wrath but hard words stir up anger. And therefore we must always speak gently, for the kind and soft-spoken words win hearts.We must not let our ego muddle our minds. Within us is our best friend and the worst enemy."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, without the competent Spiritual Master, neither can we get True Wisdom and without His guidance there is no way out of the mundane existence.
Without Him the Truth is no different from Untruth, and without Him the illusions of mind appear as reality when they are not."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, just like rain doesn't make any impact on stone, an advice falls on deaf ears on hardened hearts. Only  the prudent who are caring and sensible in making judgements and decisions take the advice by heart."
