"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, those having spotless character and Divine Virtues are very generous in nature. The true disciples are very down to earth, are soft hearted and have no vested interest in helping others, for they uplift not only themselves but the very humanity as a whole."

यह मन ताको दीजिए, साँचा सेवक होय I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, only an obedient desciple or a devotional servant deserves to receive Wisdom from his Spiritual Master (Guru). He, who treats his Master"s word as a commandment and obeys it steadfastly no matter what hardships he is subjected to, deserves to be the recipient of the Wisdom imparted by his Spiritual Master."

गुरू आज्ञा माने नही, चलै अटपटी चाल I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, he who does not obey commands of his Spiritual Master (Guru) and deviates from the righteous path is condemned by both world as well as religious tenets. He has to go through a lot of hardships and his life becomes difficult."

कहै कबीर देय तू, जब लग तेरी देह I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, do charity and accumulate the merit of virtuous deeds till you are alive. After death when the body will go back to the five basic elements of which it is comprised of, this opportunity will be lost for good."

लेना होय सो जल्द ले, कही सुनी मत मान I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, whatever you want to learn in this world, do it quickly, for the time is short.  It is our attachment to the worldliness that keeps us bound to the repeated sufferings of death and rebirth since time immemorial."

खाय पकाय लुटाय ले, यह मनुवा मिजमान I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, this rare human birth is like a guest. Just like the guest needs to look after himself like cooking, eating and enjoying, it is entirely in our hands how to make most of this precious opportunity of GOD Realisation.
He says, life is short. We don't know when we will breath last. Illustrating this with a beautiful analogy he says, this human body is like a ball on the life -ground. Just like the player needs to be alert of not losing the sight of ball, we must take as much advantage of this rare human birth before it is too late."

कबीर आप ठगाइए, और न ठगीए कोय I

आप ठगे सुख ऊपजे, और ठगे दुख होय II

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, do not cheat others even if you are tricked. 

He says, while peace of mind is the reward of honesty, the cheater bears the onus of grave consequences."

कामी क्रोधी लालची, इनते भक्ति न होय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the slaves of worldly desires, angry and greedy can never do true devotion to GOD.

Those who elevate themselves above caste, creed and similar social association and stick to the path of devotion steadfastly become the true devotees."

जब लग भक्ति सकाम है, तब लग निष्फल सेव I

कहैं कबीर वह क्यो मिले, निहकामी निज देह II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the devotion to GOD with the hope of getting something in return will do no good.

He says, the Desireless Divine  dwelling within cannot be sought  with desire. In other words, devotion to GOD without any expectation of fruits or results is necessary for His Realisation."

प्रेम बिना जो भक्ति है, सो निज दंभ विचार I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, devotion without love is nothing but hypocrisy.

The swindling in the name of GOD is same as making this precious human birth worthless."

कबीर गुरू की भक्ति का, मन में बहुत हुलास I

मन-मनसा माजै नहीं, होन चाहत है दास II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, you may aspire the devotional worship of a Spiritual Master but it is not possible without debugging the conditioned mind and eradicating it's filth, the five evils lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego.

One cannot become a devotional servant of the Spiritual Master without living by one's inherent or Pure Nature, Wisdom or Virtues."

सुरति समावे राम में, जग से रहे उदास I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, immerse yourself in the Holy RamNam and detach yourself from the happenings of the world. The true purpose of this rare human birth can be attained only when the mind gets attached to the Feet of the Master in an unabiding faith."

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, it's no less than the state of meditative consciousness if we recall with reverence  the teachings of the Spiritual Master, dwelling in the heart enlightened by the  light of Wisdom."

लंबा मारग दूर घर, बिकट पंथ बहू मार I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, the long road home is paved with obstacles and dangers and therefore it is very difficult to find the True Spiritual Master who steps out of the confines and attachments of this world and enlightens the path to GOD Realisation.

In other words to find the Truly Spiritually Wise, having mind open to everything but attached to nothing, in the world full of sense pleasures and worldly enticements is no less difficult than living the life of an ascetic, practicing austerity, penance and self discipline."

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, Blessed is the mouth that utters the Holy RamNam incessantly Useless and aimless is the life of he whose mouth utters everything but the Holy RamNam."

कबीर संगी साधू का, दल आया भरपूर I

"In this compositition Sant Kabir says, when virtues like Kindness, Forgiveness, Renunciation, Truth and Wisdom take hold of a man from within and greedless and desireless he becomes, he reins over his senses and his body obeys his commands."

जग में बैरी कोय नहीं, जो मन शीतल होय I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, the peace of mind and enmity do not go together. We will be most adored if we let go our ego."

ऐसी बानी बोलिए, मन का आपा खोय I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, words that do not stink of ego are a joy to hear not only to others but to self as well. In other words the pleasing words devoid of wanting people to notice how good or important one is, win hearts."

एक दिन ऐसा होयगा, कोय काहु का नाँहि I

घर की नारी को कहै, तन की नारी जाँहि II

" In this composition Sant Kabir says, time is moving ahead with each passing moment, for time and tide wait for no man. The day will soon come when everything will be lost and therefore don't wait for the 'right time' because it never comes. 

He says, life to the body is like a wife who is the pulse of a peaceful household. We must do the needful to make this rare human birth worthwhile till this body pulses with life."

झुठा सब संसार है, कोउ न अपना मीत I

राम नाम को जानि ले, चलै सो भौजल जीत II

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, the world is not what it appears to be and no one in reality is our friend or a relative, for they are all the result of our mistaken tendency to perceive the world of appearances as the world of ultimate reality. 

And therefore he says, its high time we wake up from the slumber of ignorance and immerse ourselves into Holy Ram Nam, the true helmsman to steer us across the ocean of repeated sufferings once and for all ."

यह बिरियाँ तो फिरी नहिं, मन में देखु विचार I

आया लाभहि कारनै, जनम जुआ मति हार II

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, this rare human birth is an opportunity to seek Liberation from repeated sufferings of death and rebirth. And therefore do not squander it in the pursuit of material wealth and worldly pleasures, for empty handed we come, empty handed we go."

भय से भक्ति करै सबै,  भय से पूजा होय I

भय पारस है जीव को, निरमय होय न कोय II

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, fear is the root cause that makes people turn to devotion and perform worship of GOD. Illustrating this with a beautiful analogy he says, fear is like the mythical Paras Stone. Just like it transforms ordinary metal into precious gold, the fear makes an ignorant to seek path of devotion and hence make his rare human birth worthwhile. 

Summing up Sant Kabir says, to be mindful of fear is necessary  to walk on the virtuous path."

सुख के संगी स्वारथी, दुःख मे रहते दूर I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, selfish people are around only when all is well, for as soon as the situation demands their presence they run away.

On the other hand Great Souls accompany, no matter what you want to share, sorrow or happiness."

संसारी से प्रीतडी, सरे न एकौ काम I

दुविधा में दोनो गए, माया मिली न राम II

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, increasing interaction and love towards the workdly-wise often creates more dilemma than the actual gain, for in the end One goes empty handed both materially as well as spiritually."

माया कु माया मिले, कर कर लंबे हाथ I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, when a wealthy man meets another they enjoy each other's  company. But for those who are non selfish or desireless or who have nothing to fall back on are loved only by GOD."

स्वारथ कुँ स्वारथ मिळे, पडि पडि लूंबा बुंब I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, many selfish people when meet pamper each other and try to please each other. However a Selfless man doesn't get respect even in words."

कबीर यह मन मसखरा, कहूँ  तो माँनै रोस I

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, just as a monkey swinging through the trees grabs one branch and lets it go only to seize another, so too, that which is called thought arises and disappears continually both day and night. The fanciful things attract the mind more than those pertaining to Wisdom and Contemplation. And therefore it is difficult to discipline the mind to walk on the path of GOD Realisation.

Summing up Sant Kabir says, it is very difficult to stock-still the mind which is prone to jumping from one thought to another constantly."

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, the countdown of death has begun ever since we are born and therefore it's high time we let go our pride and walk the path of GOD Realisation, for that's the way to the True Liberation."

खुली खेलो संसार में, बाँधि सके न कोय I

जाट जगाती क्या करे, सिर पर पोट न कोय II

"In this composition Sant Kabir says, the secret of True Liberation is living in the world but not of the world.

He urges us to engage in this world, but with a detached attitude. In other words, it is having a mind open to everything, but attached to nothing.

He says, a truly detached one does not neglect his duties and responsibilities towards family, society, but rather selflessly loves and serves the Divine in them and expands that love and service to all other beings without any sense of bondage or emotional attachment.

Summing up Sant Kabir says, only by cultivating the attitude of detachment can one hope to seek the path to True Liberation, not after death but while alive."
