संत समागम परम सुख, जान अल्प सुख और I

" In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, most precious time of life is that spent in the vicinity of Saintly Beings, listening to their Wisdom.
While the rare Swan is found only at Mansarovar, finding herons is but common place. In other words, rarely one finds a Truly Wise and priceless are the moments spent in his company."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, we are all alone in this world, related to none. The worldly attachment is as fleeting as the time of togetherness of the passengers travelling by a boat, for everyone goes his way as soon as the boat reaches the shore. Someday we all will run out of time and leave."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, just like not all the forests of the world are of precious Sandalwood, all men are brave, all the seas of the world are full of pearls, not all Sadhus are the men of Wisdom."

हाँसी खेल हराम है, जो जन रमते राम I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, all the means that provide material joy and entertainment are useless for the one who is absorbed in the Holy RamNam. Similarly  attachment to people and things, beauty of woman and even going to temple are useless for a man on his self quest."

प्रीती पुरानि न होत है, जो उत्तम से लाग I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the True love never loses sheen, never looks old and worn out. The fire within the stone remains ever aflame no matter for years it may remain submerged in water. A rub with another stone never fails to strike a spark."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, sustained commitment to love is harder than tolerating the scorching heat of fire or even walking on the cutting edge of a sword. This is because the dimensions of love keep on changing as time goes by."

जल मे बसे कुमोदिनी, चंदा बसे अकास I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, Lotus flower lives in water while it's lover moon whose light makes it bloom is far from it in the sky. When two hearts are meant for each other, no distance is too far. The True Love is the Soul's Longing that stays within eternally.

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, we keep on meeting those whose company we like very much. Our wholehearted commitment must be for those who would remain with us forever and never leave us."

तन सराय मन पाहरू, मनसा उतरी आय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, our body is but a rest house for travellers. The mind is its watchman and in it resides desire, the guest. Here no one is somebody to you. All the relations are fleeting."

नान्हा कातौ चित्त दे, महँगे मोल बिकाय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, weave a fine cloth putting all your heart into it and it will sell for a good price. No ordinary man but Lord Ram will be the buyer and the Weaver gets His Blessings."

मै मेरी तू जनि करै, मेरी मूल विनासि I

मेरी पग का पैखडा, मेरी गल की फाँसि II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, don't do "Me" and "Mine", for they are the true roots of annihilation.
The overpowering feeling of "This is Mine" is no less than shackles chaining the ankles, restricting the free movement or strangulation by the noose around the neck."

ज्यौं कोरी रेजा बुनै, नीरा आवै छोर I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, just like the Weaver goes on weaving the cloth only until the reel of thread  gets completely unwound, the distance between we and our death keeps on shortening with each passing moment, no matter how fast or slow we may run. In other words nothing could be better than remaining absorbed in GOD as much as possible."

कुटिल बचन नहिं बोलिए, शीतल बैन ले  चीन्ही I

" In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, whatever we speak must be well thought of and well meaned. We must never speak foul or harsh words. Just like cool waters of river Ganga breaks the hard rock mountains to find its way, soft words have the power to change minds of hardest of men."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, foul words are full of sufferings, for they turn the body into ashes. But the words of Saintly Beings are soothing like cold water that calm the mind by showering upon it Amrut,  the Divine nectar of immortality."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the true devotee of GOD is he who never even utters words implying violence but remains absorbed in the Wisdom of the Spiritual Master for the whole day."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, though we all often keep saying that life struck us hard, the true jolt is that which drives out all the weaknesses of mind and the body. In other words life becomes noble if we are struck by the Wisdom of the Spiritual Master."

मिसरी बिखरी रेत में, हस्ती चुनी न जाय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, not the mammoth elephant but a small ant can separate sugar crystals when they lie mixed with sand. Similarly GOD Realisation is possible only when we surrender our ego and excessive pride in our worldly riches and become humble."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, no matter rich or poor but those who surrender their ego at the feet of saintly beings become free from the mundane existence while those who give more importance to their cast superiority and family legacy remain trapped in the endless cycle of death and rebirth."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, respect is commanded when One who is righteous and humble bows before someone. Illustrating with meaningful analogy he says, the weighing scale tilts to the heavier side."

ऐसा कोई ना मिला, हमको दे उपदेश I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, in this world we didn't meet any one who will guide us about the way to escape the unending cycle of death and rebirth. In other words meeting a Spiritual Master is a rare occurrence especially when one goes searching for him."

बंधे को बंधा मिला, छुटे कौन उपाय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, when one who is bonded meets another, both remain enslaved. And therefore if we want true liberation we must serve the Spiritual Master who is beyond the realm of any bondage."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdasji says, we suffer from the consequences of our doings. The Spiritual Master will reap  his and the disciples theirs "

गुरवा तो सस्ता भया, पैसा केर पचास I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, there is mushrooming of fake god-men who exploit spiritual beliefs for material gains, trading the Holy Ram Nam for their vested interest.
Beware of them, he says, for they are far away from the Spiritual Wisdom."

सतगुरू मेरा शूरमा, तकि तकि मारै तीर I
लागे पन भागे नहीं, ऐसा दास कबीर II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the Spiritual Master, like a true warrior shoots arrows of his Wisdom on our ignorance to disable their hold on us. And therefore a disciple must face the arrows head on instead of running away from them."

सद्गुरू महिमा अनंत है, अनंत किया उपकार I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the greatness and the kindness of the Spiritual Master knows no bounds. His Wisdom deepens our vision so that we can see GOD."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, we must always strive to do all that pleases our Spiritual Master because only he can guide us to move forward on the path of righteousness."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, just like love of parents knows no bounds no matter whether their child is virtuous or not, the Spiritual Master tends his disciple like his own child."

कहैं कबीर तजि भरम को, नन्हा हैं कर पीव I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, be happy like a child for no reason and nourish yourself with the wisdom milk. The sufferings at the end of life can be avoided if we surrender our ego at the feet of the Spiritual Master unconditionally, true to our self."

बार-बार नहिं करि सके, पाख-पाख करि लेय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, those who do not get an opportunity to fall at the feet of Saintly Beings every day should do so at least once every fortnight so that they can streamline their life on the path of devotion."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, no matter when you can, but do not miss an opportunity to fall at the feet of the Saintly Beings, for it enlightens the path of Liberation from the mundane existence,  the crowning fruition of all endeavors."
