"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the day we meet a saintly being is the most auspocious of all. We must welcome wholeheartedly this  harbinger of peace and bliss  whose coming dispels all troubles born of ignorance."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the Spiritual Master is truly the confluence of  Wisdom, Liberation and Truth, the noblest of all virtues. An exemplar in life, an inspirational source who reveals the meaning of life, the frailties of mind cannot be overcome without his masterly advice and help."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the Spiritual Master is but the Supreme Lord Narayan embodied in flesh. This is because the Master enlightens us with his Spiritual Wisdom and helps to get rid of all our ignorance."

गुरू गोविंद दोउ खडे, काके लागुँ पाँय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, if it so happens that both the Spiritual Master and GOD come and stand before you at the same time, then whose Feet we must touch first is truly a very difficult question.
However the best is to touch the Feet of the Master because he is the one who guides us on our journey of GOD Realisation."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the Spiritual Master and the Supreme Lord Hari are no different. If we serve the Spiritual Master with True Commitment, Unconditional devotion and dedicate our life to him surrendering ourselves wholeheartedly, the GOD Realisation manifests through him."

मौत बिसारी बावरी, अचरज कीया कौन I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, crazy are the ones who remain ignorant of death and are amazed when it strikes.
He says, when death comes the body turns into the soil just like the salt disappears in the wheat flour."

हाड जले लकडी जले, जले जलावन हार I
कौतिक हारा भी जले, कासों करूँ पुकार II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, while the fire in the crematorium burns bones, the funeral pure is also not spared. And one day he who sets them on fire falls prey to the flames. The one who attends the funeral also has no different fate. In other words, death spares no one, it is inevitable."

पकी खेती देखि गरब किया किसान I
अजहुँ झोला बहुत है, घर आवै तब जान II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, a bountiful harvest makes a farmer very happy. He swells with pride for his hardwork to get the abundant yield. But he has no idea of what trouble awaits him when he gets back home. Life is very tricky. No one knows  when their end will come "

ऊँचा महल चुनाइया, सुबरन कली ढुलाय I
वे मंदिर खाली पडे, रहै मसाना जाय II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, luxurious palaces were built for living and they were richly decorated. But in the end they all became empty with the demise of their residents. In other words everything eventually turns into dust. Nothing lasts forever."

काल करें सो आज कर, आज करै सो अब I
पल में परलय होयगी, बहुरि करैगो कब II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, do not put off anything on tomorrow, do it now, for we don't know what tomorrow may bring. All the good work you want to do, now is the best time."

जब मै था तब गुरू नही, अब गुरू है मै नाहिं I
प्रेम गली अति साँकरी, तामें दो न समाँहि II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, when I was full of ego, the Spiritual Master did not dwell in my heart. And now when I have only him, there is no ignorance.
He says, an alley of love is so narrow that it cannot accommodate ignorance and Spiritual Wisdom together. In other words the Spiritual Master and his disciple have become One by unconditional love."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, no love is as deep as that of Fish and Water.
He says, the true lovers are like Fish that succombs as soon as it parts from water."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, Pearls don't lie on the seashore. If you want one, you must dive deep into the sea. In other words Love is like ocean whose true depths are not known, yet one who dares to explore it's depths lays his hands on the Gems of Love."

जा घट प्रेम न संचरै, सो घट जानु मसान I

जैसे खाल लुहार की, साँस लेत बिन प्रान II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the body in which no love dwells is no different than a place where dead are created or buried.

He says, such a man without love is like an air bag made from the skin of dead animal, used by blacksmiths that expands and contracts to blow air especially into a fire to make it burn better."

आया प्रेम कहाँ गया, देखा था सब कोय I
छिन रोवै छिन में हँसै, सो तो प्रेम न होय II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, love that appears and  then disappears suddenly is fleeting in nature.

He says, love that is  joy in one moment and tears in other moment is no more than a deception."

मन मैला तन ऊजरा, बगुला कपटी अंग I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, those who hide their ill intentions behind the sweet talk are  dangerous like a Crane bird that catches fish by deception. 
He says, much better than these hypocrites is a crow who is black inside out."

माला तिलक लगाय के, भक्ति न आई हाथ I
दाढी - मूँछ मुँडाय के, चले दुनी के साथ II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, One doesn't become enlightened only because he is holding rosary in hands or has a religious mark on his forehead.
He says, without the self discipline there cannot be correct self- effort and without the correct and sustained self-effort there is no awakening of the Divine Grace within. 
It doesn't matter whether one wears long hair and beard or not, for the Liberation and the Devotion are realised only by the self control."

चाल बकुल की चली है, बहुरि  कहावै हंस I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, those who are shrewd like Crane but pretend to be Swan cannot pick the pearls because they cannot distinguish  pearls from pebbles  They remain forever in the bondage of death and rebirth due to their ignorance."

साधु बिहंगम सुरसरी, चले बिहंगम चाल I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the Saintly Beings are like the waters of Holy river Ganga.Just like the waters of Holy Ganges make the land in its pathway fertile, the Saintly Beings, wherever they go, uplift the masses from the abyss of ignorance and  enlighten them with  their Divine Wisdom."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, make him your Spiritual Master who is free from all worldly entanglements, imparts True Wisdom and makes us realise the importance of the journey within."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, truly blind are those who do not understand the importance of a Spiritual Master in their life.
He says, it is possible that one can get away from the wrath of GOD unscathed but with the Spiritual Master you have no place left to go."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, he who strives to serve the Spiritual Master without any thought of reward, recognition or personal gain realises the True Wisdom, Love, Compassion, Devotion and Faith, the noblest of all virtues."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, the doubts and dreads flee away and the clouds of ignorance are dispelled in his Enlightening Divine Wisdom if we assume the Spiritual Master himself as the Sublime Essence of the world entire."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, a true devotee remains absorbed in the devotion of his Spiritual Master just like the bird Chakor gazes at the moon all night unwaveringly."

तूटै बरत अकास सौ, कौन सकत है झेल I

"In this cpmposition Sant Kabirdas says, just like the free fall of the stunt man swinging across the circus play area cannot be stopped if the rope used by him during the wild acrobats breaks, the resolve made by the Aesthetic Holy persons and the Truly Brave is firm and invincible once they make up their mind."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, an ascetic holy person or a truly brave do not go back on their word just like the sound of drums or clarinet once played cannot be recalled."

बहता पानी निरमला, बंधा गंदा होय I

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, a man on his Self Quest should not remain in one place for long to avoid from getting entangled in the worldly attachment.
Illustrating with meaningful analogy he says, standing water is dirty while the running water is clean."

कमल पत्र है साधू जन, बसै जगत के माँहिं I
बालक केरि घाय ज्यो, अपना जानत नाहिं II

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, a Lotus Leaf is born in muddy water, grows in it, draws sustainance from it, blooms and dies in it. But it has no affinity to the muddy water and even a drop of water does not linger on it. It retains it's essence, fulfills it's role regardless of the environment around. Likewise are the Enlightened Beings who live amidst the world yet do not get entangled in it.
In another meaningful analogy he says, the mind open to everything but attached to nothing is like a milk mother who nurses the child, even when it is not her own child."

"In this composition Sant Kabirdas says, just like a calf drinks mother cow's milk but not her blood, a Truly Righteous man distinguishes virtues from vices and picks up only the virtues."
