II श्रीराम जय राम जय जय राम II

कबीर दर्शन साधू के, करत न कीजै कानि I
ज्यौं उद्यम से लक्ष्मी, आलस मन से हानि II

Work must be done while it needs to be done. If you’ve been harvesting then it would be foolish and financially disastrous to put off the harvest ahead than required. You need to harvest when the crop is ready. It’s getting down to work that brings results, not the procrastination.
The one who refuses to work when it is needed is called sluggard or lazy. As the tale goes, Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!  It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.  How long will you lie there, you sluggard?  When will you get up from your sleep?  A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief. There is a bit of lighthearted teasing in this story. The idea is that the ant is wiser than the sluggard. The ant, who doesn’t think, instinctively gathers food. We, the sluggard, on the other hand can think, but do not and therefore in the end wind up worse off than an ant. In other words what is the use of the sense of discrimination that we humans possess if we do not use it for the true purpose of this rare human birth, God Realisation.

"Kabir says, just like the diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor, one must avoid finding an excuse to postpone a Sadhu Darshan. Just like lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth, it's entirely in our hands what we want to make of this rare human birth, a slumber of ignorance or a gateway to liberation. Just like laziness leads to poverty, there is no solace to the agitated mind without Sadhu Darshan."
