II श्रीराम जय राम जय जय राम II

संत मता गजराज का, चाचैं बंधन छोड I
जग कुत्ता पीछे फिरै, सुनै न वाका सोर II

An elephant is walking down the street. The dogs run out and start yapping at this gigantic gray elephant. As the elephant keeps walking through the village, the dogs bark, and chase the elephant. The elephant doesn’t mind. Just like the elephant, the saintly beings have a path. They know their destination. They have a vision of where they want to go. The righteous path is not one which will always be ladened with roses, but is a winding path full of obstacles. To advocate the importance of journey within while the whole world is seeking happiness in material pursuits is no less than swimming against the tide. Going against the tide is no easy task but it’s much better than going with the flow — the wrong way. All the great minds of the world who made a profound impact on our way of thinking and living were subjected to severe hardships by their contemporaries. Yet they continued their work steadfastly adhering to their beliefs just like an elephant walking down the street, least concerned about the dogs barking and chasing it."
