"Man is known by the company that he keeps. The company that one keeps is a great force and it plays a big role in shaping the person. No wonder those who live in the company of thieves, robbers and evil persons, acquire evil ways of life while those who keep the company of Saintly people are shaped in the Saintly mould and destined to follow the path of spirituality. In the Holy company, not only ones negativity and sins are dispelled, one gains confidence and trust.
We live in very troubled times. The future is unpredictable and there is pain and anguish among all; no peace can be found. People are unhappy about their situation and they find that they are unable to change this situation. There is too much violence in the world; many wars are going on all the time; there is acute friction among communities; inflation is too high; survival is just too difficult; one has to be on guard at all times; and the stress is overwhelming. Kabir provides a solution to all these troubles and guides us to seek the company of Saintly Beings. Without His company love for God does not well up. One continues wandering around in confusion, performing all sorts of rituals.
Kabir says, one must make every effort to spend as much time as possible in the company of the Spiritually Wise, for it brings out the best of us in terms of pure and truthful values. It helps us to spiritually elevate on our personal levels and hence uplift us from our mundane existence."
