"Kabir says, in our world it is difficult to discern truth behind a facade of appearances. Just as there is falsehood lurking behind truth, there are fake Gurus in the guise of genuine masters. And therefore finding a genuine Guru is vital. The quest of Guru needs a difficult process of self-transformation. It demands many personal sacrifices on the part of the aspirants, both physically and mentally to undergo a vigorous self-cleansing process. Our attachments to pleasure and our aversions to discomfort needs to be severed. A Guru comes to us by the grace of God, according to our preparation, readiness, aspiration, karma and faith. And it is possible only when we have the willful readiness to make necessary sacrifices and adjustments in our life for the self-transformation."
