"Kabir says, Life is a constant river of change. Nothing stays the same forever-every moment, every feeling, every person who enters our lives is part of an ever-shifting flow. Emotions rise and fall, thoughts come and go, people drift in and out, and the scenery around us is always evolving. The beauty of life lies in this impermanence. When we truly understand that everything is temporary, we begin to release the need for attachment and control, allowing ourselves to simply flow with it all.
It's natural to want to hold on to the things that make us feel secure, whether it's people, experiences, or even emotions. But clinging to what is meant to pass only creates resistance and suffering. When we become attached, we try to freeze life in place, fearing the unknown or the loss of what feels comfortable. Yet, life is not meant to be held in place, it's meant to flow, to evolve, and to guide us forward.
Emotions are temporary.
They are like waves in the ocean, rising and falling with the tides of life. Happiness, sadness, anger, joy-these feelings are part of the human experience, but none of them are permanent. When you feel overwhelmed by emotion, remember: it will pass. Just as joy is fleeting, so too are moments of pain. Flow with it, knowing that each emotion is a visitor, not a permanent resident in your soul.
Thoughts are temporary. The mind is constantly generating ideas, beliefs, and narratives, but none of them are fixed. The thoughts you have today may not be the ones you have tomorrow. Don't cling to every thought that crosses your mind. Observe them, let them flow through you, and release them when they no longer serve you.
People are temporary.
Everyone we meet plays a role in our journey, but not everyone is meant to stay. Some people are with us for a season, some for a lifetime, and some for a fleeting moment. Cherish the connections, but don't become attached to the idea that they must last forever. Relationships, like everything else, ebb and flow. Let them unfold naturally, without grasping for permanence."
