Animals have been traditionally sacrificed in a ritualistic manner for centuries in Hindu temples. Ritual slaughter of animals is often practiced in temples by men appointed as ritual butchers. They ruthlessly execute the animal slaughter without remorse decapitating animals, usually goats, but  sometimes buffaloes as well, and the blood is offered to deity. Their rigid adherence to outward cleansing and religious paraphernalia is in stark contradiction to the cutting of throat of animals and bleeding them to death before God. These butchers assume socially elevated sacred positions and the masses draw inspiration from them.
Kabir says, I find it very amusing because these are the same people who are ruthless murderers themselves, who guide people about how to absolve from guilt."
