गुरू पारस को अन्तरो, जानत हैं सब संत I
वह लोहा कंचन करे, ये करि लेय महंत II

"Kabir says, there is no parallel to the Guru. He may be compared with a philosopher's stone which turns the iron into gold. But even this comparison is not enough because the philosopher's stone turns iron only into gold. It does not transform that metal into another philosopher's stone just like the Guru elevates his disciple to merge in himself."
