सुमिरन सोंमन लाइये, जैसे दीप पतंग I
प्राण तजे छिन एक रात में, जरत न मोरै अंग II

Don't look for water, be thirsty. Your thirst attracts God because your longing for God is God's longing for you. Like a moth drawn to the flame, a devotee is drawn to God by the fire of longing. The brighter is the fire, stronger is the longing. And this longing purifies. It burns him until nothing is left within the heart but God.

"Kabir says, devotion is love for the sake of love. The devotee wants God and God alone. There is neither selfish expectation nor fear. It is a sacred love, a higher emotion, with sublime sentiment, that unites the devotee with the Lord. Have ceaseless devotion to Truth. Be ready to sacrifice all just like moth's longing to the flame. The moth jumps into the flame, unafraid of getting burnt or death."
