हेत बिना आवै नहीं, हेत तहां चलि जाय I कबीर जल औ सन्तजन, नवै तहां ठहराय II
"Kabir says, meeting a saintly being is no ordinary thing, for nothing happens without a reason. Just like the natural tendency of water is to flow to lowlands, and not uphill on its own, the saintly beings visit the places where humility dwells, where there is willingness to listen to. Where ego prevails, the saintly beings don't go because falsehood and truth cannot coexist. Just like water finds it's way to lowlands on its own, a saintly being is pulled to the place where there is unconditional love and devotion."
