कबीर समुझा कहत है, पानी थाह बताय I
ताकुँ सतगुरू कह करे, जो औघट डूबै जाय II

"Kabir says, many people invite peril when they enter river water without giving conscious thought to what they are getting into. The river may be deeper than what it appears to be from outside and sometimes may have a steep slope.  There may be hidden debris or underwater hazards which can cause injury, including weeds and plants which can entangle people under the water. The riverbed may be slippery and may have sharp pointed stones lay strewn on it. If it is polluted it could make one ill. 
Similarly if one doesn't pay heed to the teachings of Sadguru, nothing can save him from drowning in the abyss of ignorance, for then only he will be responsible for his downfall. In other words, unless one gives a conscious thought to the teachings of Sadguru about the true purpose of this rare human birth, he is bound to succumb to the lures of Maya again and again thus resulting in the unending cycle of death and rebirth inevitable."
