कबीर गुरू की भक्ति बिनु, राजा रासभ होय I माटी लदै कुम्हार की, घास न डारै कोय II
"Kabir says, just like bird in hand is worth two in bush, we must make most of this rare human birth we have here and now, the best means to attain it's true purpose, God Realisation. We don't know what we will be born as in our next life. Only under the guidance of Guru one cultivates pure and unalloyed devotion to God, a true pathway to liberation from the mundane existence. In other words there is no substitute to Guru Bhakti, total surrender and an unconditional devotion to Guru. Illustrating the importance of human birth he says, a king in his next birth may be born as a donkey carrying heavy loads on its back with not enough food to eat."
